13.10.2009 11:17:25 Delhi is host to Commonwealth 2010 Games and the city government is making preparations from the last four years finds its organisational structure weak,lacking the war footing adminstartive structure to carry out the preparation work, the games schedule needs to be re-visited by the Co-ordination Commission due in December to take stock of preparatory situation to propel the pace of work.

Commmonwealth Games chief Michael Fennell has appointed an independent panel to monitor the Delhi 2010 Games progress so that it meets
all new deadlines after his 5-day visit to various venues where construction is in progress.
Mr. Fennel said, there is no plan B to shift the Games venue from Delhi. He however, stressed the importance of every single day being pivotal and every hour vital.Mr. Fennel addressing a press conference in New Delhi said the CGF feels that the venues will be ready in time. He, however, cautioned against any more slippages.
Suresh Kalmadi has conceded that there are many challenges in hosting the 2010 Games but assured the CGF General Assembly delegates that India would overcome them to deliver a memorably well-organised event.
He further added,"We have the full support of the Government of India, with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh taking personal interest and with Sports Minister M S Gill co-ordinating the efforts to ensure that the Games are successful. We also have Chief Minister Mrs Shiela Dikshit ensuring that Delhi will put its best foot forward to host the games."
