CLC President Ken Georgetti will be available for comment later in the day.
It was one year ago that Statistics Canada began to report mounting job losses. Since the fall of 2008, almost 400,000 full-time jobs have disappeared and in September 2009 there were 1.55 million unemployed men and women in Canada. Fewer than half of them are able to collect Employment Insurance. The CLC has repeatedly called upon the federal government to fix the EI system.
