lynn@innopath.com Building on global Tier 1 operator MDM successes, InnoPath Software, the leader in Integrated Mobile Device Management (iMDM) solutions, has announced expansion into Latin America with the establishment of a regional sales and support office in Brazil. As MDM deployments become more strategic to the region, operators are looking to include advanced management functionality within their mobile networks with a goal of reducing operational expenses, increasing customer satisfaction, and facilitating new service deployment.
"InnoPath is excited about the opportunities in Latin America and are already planning with our partners and customers in the region. We believe 2008 is a pivotal year in the adoption of device management applications in the region," according to Jeff Pool, Vice President of Sales for the Americas.
New and existing subscribers look to their wireless service providers to enable more sophisticated media and communications services while avoiding the complexity trap that can cause them to quickly abandon a new service offering. Given that the Latin American region is still experiencing strong initial growth, with overall wireless penetration doubling between 2004 and 2008 to almost 70% (1), the initial subscriber experience is critical. In fact, by the end of next year, the 275 million wireless subscribers across Latin America will approach that of North America.
"The flexibility that MDM provides will be critical for mobile operators in Latin America in 2008. Demand will also be generated by new 3G deployments, the number of portability initiatives, as well as the continuous need for operational cost reductions and improvements in customer satisfaction," says Carlos Castilho, Director of Sales for Latin America for Innopath. Carlos Castilho has more than 10 years experience in the mobile market in Latin America, with previous assignments at Siemens and LogicaCMG.
InnoPath is unique in its ability to offer the network operator a pre-integrated server and client MDM solution, in addition to third-party interoperability via Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA-DM) standards. The company's server software has been deployed at major operators including ATT, KDDI, Sprint, and Softbank Mobile. Client partnerships include Foxconn, Kyocera, LG, NEC, Panasonic, Pantech & Curitel, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony Ericsson, and Toshiba.
InnoPath will be demonstrating its end-to-end MDM solution, including customer care, security management, and lifecycle application management, at the upcoming Informa MDM conference in Rio de Janeiro, Oct 8-10. Additional information is available at
