Environmentally concerned businessmen introduce LPG-powered tricycles in the Philippines

The new models are a total departure from the side-car design of the local tricycle.

30.09.2008 15:16:52 In response to the growing price of oil in the world market, as well as global warming, a group of environmentally concerned entrepreneurs introduce LPG-powered tricycles in the country.

(live-PR.com) - Fleur-de-lis Int'l. Trading Corp. (FITCOR) introduces a complete line-up of Clean Air compliant and innovative products to answer the demands for alternative fuel vehicles in the public transport sector. Its products range from electric bikes and scooters, to Clean Air compliant tricycles, LPG powered cars and LPG/CNG powered buses. It also introduces a range of slab-type delivery tricycles, as well
as good-looking neighborhood vehicles, for short-distance errands and deliveries.

'Clean Air compliant and alternative fuel powered vehicles can help business increase profits by cutting costs. This will help families save on gas and stretch their budgets. This will help jeepney and taxi drivers increase their incomes, help stabilize fare rates and favorably affect the prices of prime commodities,' FITCOR's lady president Salvie Einosas said. 'To ensure quality and customer satisfaction, FITCOR buys products directly from selected manufacturers at low prices,' Einosas added.

FITCOR grouped its major tricycle products under two brand names: the Road Runner passenger tricycles, and the Big Bird cargo tricycles. They come in modern roomy designs that provide more comfort and safety to the riding public. They are available both in four-stroke gasoline engines, as well as LPG options, in various engine displacements that produce low carbon emission levels. The marketing and distribution of FITCOR products is handled exclusively by FITCOR Marketing (FITMARK) through franchised outlets, in combination with its own direct branch operations. The company now has five outlets nationwide with Metro Manila as its direct branch operation. FITMARK extends financing assistance to interested buyers in selected areas.

FITCOR also designed its Auto Gas Vehicles for Transport Cooperatives Program (AGV4TC) to empower transport cooperatives by helping them acquire new vehicles to become more competitive and capable of extending quality service to the riding public. . This is in pursuance of the MOA it sign with the Office of Transport Cooperatives last December 2007, which launched the 'Tricycle para sa Kooperatiba at Ekolohiya' or TRIKE project.
